It occurred
without any fanfare and would have hardly have
been noticed had I not been anticipating its
arrival. It may not mean much to most folks, but
it means a lot to me. You see, what happened
couldnt have happened without the Lord
doing it... On
Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 2:02 p.m. Central
Daylight Time, Divine Intervention received its
one-hundred thousandth visitor. Whoever this
person was lives in New York City and came by way
of a Google search using the term "what
is divine intervention?" That Google search
brought them 2.43 million results of which we
were number two on the very first page.
Two points to
consider here: First, 2.43 million results and
were the second one on page one? Only the
Lord could have placed us there. Weve done
nothing to enhance how search engines rank us.
Second, one-hundred thousand visitors? Some
corporate sites, and even a few Christian sites
get that a day, a week or a month. It took us
eight and one-half years to achieve that number
after purchasing the domain name. Whats
awesome is that fewer than ten percent of the
people who come to Divine Intervention are return
visitors. In other words, over ninety percent of
those one-hundred thousand folks had never been
to Divine Intervention before. Thats over
ninety-thousand new people in just over eight
years who the Lord has led to Divine Intervention
to read His Gospel message.
Now do you see why
Im so excited? I boast not of myself or the
work that He has placed with us, but I boast in
the Lord Himself (Psalms 34:2). For as I said, this
couldnt have happened without His guidance
and intervention. Were a small ministry. We
dont send out a regular column, we simply
write what the Lord leads us to when He leads us
to, which is one reason this is the first article
of the year, and as far as we know, could be the
only one for the year. We dont ask for any
money for Internet or domain expenses, and when
its offered, we respectfully say thank you,
but we dont need it. Dont get me
wrong, I have nothing against smaller ministries
that ask for help if they need it, for they are
supposedly doing the Lords work after all,
but He continues to bless us so that we need no
help. For instance, we have a brother in Christ
who owns a local Internet Service Provider
company and donates the web space for Divine
Intervention.*I love you for that Bill* This is
only one of the many blessings He has provided.
I want to leave
you with a list of the countries whose residents
have visited us. The list grows larger all the
time, and as the Lords appearing draws
nearer, visitors are coming from corners of the
globe we thought wed never hear from:
